The World Health Organization (WHO) has donated a total of 10,000 doses of influenza vaccine to the government, along with 4,000 viral transport media.
The Health Ministry has expanded its list of prioritized recipients, and has hastened prevention for patients with existing respiratory conditions, cancer patients, children below the age of three, patients receiving dialysis, and those above the age of 65.
While the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has said that their vaccine reserves are low, it has continued to prioritize vaccinating the aforementioned groups. ADK Hospital is also administering vaccines for MVR 163.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA)’s summary on the outbreak for Wednesday reported that 169 patients out of 460 have tested positive for H1N1 and that thirty-three patients have been hospitalized thus far.
HPA revealed that 155 patients had tested positive by Tuesday, an increase of 14 patients in 24 hours.
