Police yet to find any suspects in Hulhumalé rape
The police have confirmed that a woman was raped in Hulhumalé’s industrial area, and that it was reported at around 22:40 on Thursday.

The Maldives Police Service is yet to make an arrest over a rape in Hulhumalé, an urban extension of capital city Malé.

The police have confirmed that a woman was raped in the island’s industrial area, and that it was reported at around 22:40 on Thursday.

However, given that investigation is ongoing, the spokesman refused to divulge any further details.

RaajjeMV understands that the woman is a 27-year-old, and the rapist had torn off her clothes.

Media reports on the offense state that she was found bare by a group of people, who had helped her and reported the incident.

The dimly-lit industrial area was developed far from homes, making it conducive of violent crime.
