Electricity services resumed after hours of no service in capital Male’ city.

STELCO reported that a transformer located near MWSC had malfunctioned due to water damages.

Electricity services were disrupted around 1300 hrs in Male’ and resumed to some areas two hours afterward.

IGMH officials reported that they had to resort to backup generators for operation theatres and ICU.

Many services of the main hospital in Male’ were halted.

MWSC said that water supply services will resume at full pressure when electricity services were fully functional.

Communications, baking and government services were disrupted as well.
