Muaz bans questioning after press conference ends

President’s Office Spokesperson Ibrahim Muaz Ali has schooled members of press on questioning procedures.

After a press conference held on Sunday, Spokesperson Muaz gathered all members of press and admonished the journalists. He said that all journalists must obey the press moderators and that asking questions after the conference had been concluded was disrespectful.

He added that trying to find additional information after press conferences was not an acceptable practice. Muaz further said that this was only observed in journalists who just entered the field and that they must be taught “proper “journalism procedures and ethics. He said that actions of this nature had been on the rise, especially in the President’s Office.

Asking questions on a one-to-one basis after press conferences is an accepted practice globally and a key source of many journalists.
