Sea travellers advised to be cautious of stray wood
A large number of pallets, logs, and chips slipped overboard after cargo vessel crashed into a lighthouse.

The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has asked travelers to be cautious of stray pellets, logs, and chips fell out of cargo ship.

Major Adnan Mohamed, who serves as Information Officer to the MNDF, told RaajjeMV that the cargo ship crashed into a lighthouse in Kaashidhoo island of Kaafu atoll, causing a large number of wood stacked on the ship to slip overboard and drift off in the current.

He had advised those traveling by sea, especially at night to be mindful so as to avoid unnecessary injury.

Major Mohamed added that the vessel had crashed on Wednesday night, was tugged to safety as soon as possible, and none of the crew were injured.
