The Maldives Police Service (MPS) has on Monday announced that it destroyed drugs confiscated in relation to 955 individual cases.
The Police destroyed the drugs in Dhoonidhoo, 2 km away from capital city Malé, which they state was confiscated between 2004 and 2007.
A statement on their website said the Police had destroyed 4,600 bullets containing heroin, and 495 pieces of hash oil wrapped in cellophane.
A total of 3,869 grams of heroin and 291.5 grams of hash oil had been destroyed.
