A man from Thoddoo in Alif Alif Atoll is being treated in the ICU after crashing a motorcycle he was riding with two passengers.
The Thoddo council told RaajjeMV that the rider lost control after the motorcycle hitting a bump in the road, swayed sideways, and crashed into a tree.
He added that the two passengers were his brothers, and the youngest of them was a student. They were on their way for a swim, a council member said.
The man was brought to Malé and is being treat in the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital’s ICU. RaajjeMV could not acquire a comment from the hospital at the time of press.
It is against road regulations to carry more than one passenger, on a two-wheeled vehicle.
