Maldives’ foreign secretary Abdul Ghafoor Mohamed has met with Chinese Ambassador Zhang Lizhong.
The meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs premises in capital city Malé on Monday; the ministry reports that ways in which to develop relations between both nations was discussed.
Ambassador Lizhon has been meeting senior officials of the recently sworn-in Maldivian government, including President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih himself.
The Solih administration has said that it will maintain a balanced foreign policy, through which it intends to bolster relations with all nations it has made diplomatic commitments to.
