Deputy Chairperson of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Ali Niyaz has stated that former President Nasheed will share the information regarding the high-level meetings of the Party, currently on going in Sri Lanka.
Nasheed had arrived in Sri Lanka to kick start the discussions on Sunday. He had met the members of National Congress and Advisory Committee.
Ali Niyaz said any meetings held with Nasheed is a success for MDP. He said Nasheed will share the key outcomes of the discussions with the general public prior to his departure back to UK. Niyaz had not divulged additional information regarding the discussions.
MDP Deputy Leader Mohamed Shifaz said the decisions will be publicized after reviewing them with Maldives United Opposition (MUO) shadow cabinet. He added that a meeting of the shadow cabinet will be held on February 2nd.
Ali Niyaz reported that Nasheed had met with MDP leadership Monday morning and will meet MDP National Congress on Wednesday. He will meet MDP members and supporters on February 2nd.
Nasheed had been living in exile for the past year in the UK, following a 13-year verdict on terror charges.
