Telecom giant Dhiraagu reports the company earned MVR 643 million in the fourth quarter of last year, with a profit of MVR 187 million. This is an increase of 15 percent compared to 2015 figures for the same period.
For the whole year, Dhiraagu earned a total of MVR 2.5 billion, an increase of 10 percent compared to 2015. Profits for the period increased by 16 percent to MVR 840 million.
Dhiraagu cites investments into improving 3G, 4G and fiber networks as well as redesign of packages to cater to customer needs. Dhiraagu adds that they were working on further improving their network and other services.
Dhiraagu had run vital CSR initiatives during the last quarter, including Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race, Dhiraagu Special Sports meet and collaboration with NGOs for children. The company had also tied up with Parley and Beam to launch the “For the Oceans” campaign.
