Ooredoo Maldives has launched an SMS competition to celebrate the public support they receive for such promotional activities, called ‘Football Foari’.

Customers have to send the text message ‘GO’ to 4242 in order to be initiated into the ‘Football Foari’ – the word foari translates to excitement – promotion.

They will then receive a set of letters, with which they are to form a word. For every word, more than three letters long, customers will receive 100 points.

Customers are required to keep forming more words from these letters, and then send the text message ‘CHANGE’, in order to keep filing in words. They will receive 500 points for every new word.

The competition comes with prizes worth over MVR 500,000 Ooredoo said. The telecommunications provider will choose a prize for weekly and monthly winners.

The promotion closes by July 29th, and Ooredoo will award weekly winners with Apple’s iPhone X each. Monthly winners get a 55 inch ‘Curved TV’ by Samsung, along with a PS4 Pro.
