The state’s oil supplier Fuel Supply Maldives has announced that it is developing a petrol station at the ‘Industrial Village’ compound in Malé City, and its other outlets are to be closed.

The development of this larger petrol station has been assigned to the state-operated Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) for over MVR 50 million.

The contract dictates that the company be finished with the project within a period of six months, and the station should be able to serve 20 vehicles at the same time.

Fuel Supply Maldives currently operates three stations across the capital city, and its bulky carrier vehicles transport oil between them.

The company’s statement on the matter was keen to say that they will no longer be using said vehicles on the streets of Malé after the project is complete.
