Ooredoo, TATA sign deal to develop internet services in Maldives
MoU was signed to develop Internet of Things (IoT) services for Maldives customers

Ooredoo Maldives and Tata Communications Transformation Services (TCTSL) has signed a deal to develop digital initiatives in the Maldives region.

TCTSL signed the memorandum of understanding to develop Internet of Things (IoT) services for Maldives customers.

Ooredoo Maldives CEO Najib Khan said the partnership marks “another milestone in our commitment to the Digital Maldives initiative. As the world continues to undergo rapid transformation, we remain focused on embracing new technologies to enable greater innovation and opportunities for our customers.”

TCTSL is currently deploying a IoT network in India for its parent company Tata Communications. The agreement is expected to help Ooredoo Maldives and TCTSL jointly address several business opportunities in emerging areas such as IoT, managed security and cloud.

The deal is expected to enable Ooredoo Maldives and TCTSL develop capabilities in deploying services in IoT device management, subscription management, network connectivity administration, flexible billing, cloud solutions, open source, API Management and website and applications development.

This will include wearable and smart technology for enterprises and consumers using Ooredoo's next generation LTE Advance Pro Network, LoRA and other internet service, ensuring a globally unified service procedure and introduction of industry best practices for consumers in Maldives.
