2018 election will not be fair: Mahloof
Opposition coalition has prevented President Yameen from stopping the election
Despite government influence, opposition will beat President Yameen, vowed Mahloof.

The 2018 presidential election will neither be fair nor independent, says South-Galolhu MP Ahmed Mahloof.

Speaking to RaajjeTV in Sri Lanka, MP Mahloof said that the opposition would beat President Abdulla Yameen with more than 90 percent of the votes if the election were to allow all the political leaders to run.

Mahloof said President Yameen would want to do everything he can to try to stop the election from happening, but that the work of the opposition coalition has so far prevented him from doing that.

He warned that the government will still try to distort the results, and might also delay the presidential election similar to what they had done to the local council election.

Despite any government influence, the opposition will beat President Yameen by a wide margin, vowed Mahloof.
