President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Gayoom has extended the greetings of the Day Maldives Embraced Islam to the nation.

In his message, the President reminded that remaining steadfast in Islam was a religious and national obligation on every Maldivian. He also said that we must be wary of those who are envious of the fact that Maldives is a 100 percent Muslim nation.

The President also warned that there were forces within and outside the nation to undermine Islam, adding that we must resist such actions.

The goal of every Maldivian, the President said, must be to strictly adhere to Islam to pave way for progress and national development.

In concluding the message, President Yameen extended the warm wishes of the day to all Maldivians.
