The Ministry of Environment and Energy has once again invited tenders to draft polices regarding climate change in Maldives.
The announcement on the ministry’s website states that this was part of a project of the environment ministry and the United Nation (UN)’s Environment Programme.
The first tender was canceled after it was found that the stated deadline was on a government holiday. The new one has extended the deadline to 11:30 am on December 21, Thursday.
The government had discussed strengthening policies on climate change on previous occasions as well, and in September 2016 vowed to spend USD 8.5 million climate change projects.
