President Abdulla Yameen has sent greetings to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as the country marked its 46th national day.
The President sent separate messages to President Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on Saturday.
In his message to President Khalifa, President Yameen 'expressed hope that the fraternal bond between Maldives and UAE will continue to go even stronger in the years ahead for the mutual benefit of both countries', said the President's Office.
While the President visited UAE in October, he expressed confidence that the recent trip has 'reinvigorated' the Maldives-UAE relations founded on 'good will, understanding and reciprocity'.
In separate messages to the VP and Crown Prince, the President emphasized that the trip has 'enlivened the spirit to further strengthen the existing partnership', assuring them that the Maldives 'remains firmly committed to maintain and cultivate the brotherly bond and development cooperation that happily exist between Maldives and UAE'.
The President further noted the various milestones the Maldives-UAE ties have reached in recent years, further expressing 'hope and confidence that this promising trend will remain for years to come'.
UAE celebrates its national day on 2 December, marking UAE's Union Day between the seven emirate which was followed by the joining of the seventh emirate, in 1972.
