The President’s Office has opened applications for membership of the National Integrity Commission (NIC).

The applications were opened following the dismissal of Yoosuf Maaniu Mohamed from the post of the President and Member of NIC. Maaniu was dismissed after he had accused senior officials of the Maldives Police Service (MPS) of obstructing an on ongoing investigation into the conduct of law enforcement officers.

In a tweet sent out on November 17, NIC's now former chief said that those who obstruct investigations, 'those even in police leadership', will face the 'full legal power' of the National Integrity Commission.

Applications for the post is open till 1200 hours on Wednesday 6th December 2017.
