Residents of Thinadhoo in Gaaf Dhaal Atoll have reported that the ruling party has been using state property in preparation for an upcoming rally on the island.
Residents also said that seating for the rally had been acquired from the Atoll Education Center in Thinadhoo.
The same public education center had last week refused to rent plastic chairs for use in an opposition rally, claiming that state property cannot be let out for use in anything political.
Vehicles registered to the state have previously been used for ruling party rallies held in capital city Male’ and employees from government offices have been seen actively preparing for said rallies.
