Maldives Police Service (MPS) has revealed that two individuals have been arrested with drugs worth MVR 10 million.
MPS reported that a 40-year-old Maldivian and a 32-year-old expatriate were arrested on the 21st of this month from Hulhumale’.
Head Superintendent of Drug Enforcement Department Moosa Ali reported that 15 days was set as remand for the two.
The drugs were stored at a work site in Hulhumale’. Three types of drugs were recovered from the operation; 5.2 kilos of hashish oil, 503 grams of brown sugar and 2.81 kilos of crystal meth. MPS reported this was the largest amount of crystal meth recovered in a single operation.
The Maldivian arrested in connection to the case was released under parole in 2016 in a drugs related case.
