Former Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed says the grafted funds from Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) are now seen in Male’ society.
In a tweet posted on Thursday, Dr. Jameel said had President Abdullah Yameen had listened to the advice he was given then, a loss of that magnitude could have been avoided.
Dr. Jameel had attached a link to court case on former head of MMPRC Abdullah Ziyaath. State had alleged the total amount grafted from MMPRC had exceeded MVR 700 million.
The irreversible losses sustained from MMPRC case was the result of President Yameen not heeding the advice he was given, he said.
However, he had refrained from releasing additional details.
