Assistant Commissioner of Police Abdul Mannaan Yoosuf has been dismissed from his position as head of Maldives Police Service (MPS) Commissioner’s Bureau.
RaajjeMV understands that he was dismissed last week.
Several changes have been to MPS ranks over the past weeks, including transfer of Assistant Commissioner of Police Mohamed Jamsheed to Projects Officer in Addu City, dismissal of Assistant Commissioner of Police Abdullah Fairoosh as well as the investigation into Assistant Commissioner of Police Hussain Adam, who had been demoted to a Chief Superintendent.
Additionally, a team from President’s Office had been drawn up to investigate the row between Commissioner of Police Ahmed Areef and Deputy Commissioner of Police Ahmed Saudhee.
Mannaan was one of the officers active in the chaos created by MPS on February 7,2012. He was one of those who had given testimony in the case made against former President Mohamed Nasheed over the arrest of Judge Abdullah Mohamed.
No statement had been released over the change.
