Lawyer Hisaan Hussain says the Judge who had sentenced the late Abdul Rasheed must be held accountable and accept responsibility for his untimely and painful demise.

Speaking in the rally held by joint opposition parties in Addu City Hithadhoo on Friday night, Hisaan said Rasheed had died due to gross negligence. She added that Rasheed was jailed on trumped up charges and continued to serve his sentence.

Therefore, the lawyer noted that the Police officer, who gave false testimony, and prosecution lawyers must also be held accountable and accept their part in his death.

Hisaan vowed to bring these individuals to justice.

Rasheed was jailed for five years. He had passed away while receiving treatment at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
