Three suspects have been arrested after a 19-year-old was stabbed to death in the capital Malé City on Saturday night.
Police confirmed the arrests, adding that "no further information can be disclosed".
A police spokesperson had, on Saturday night, informed that two individuals were taken to Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), following an attack in Maafannu, which was reported at around 11:22 pm.
While police said that one of the individuals had died "while receiving treatment at hospital," a family member told RaajjeMV that "he was pronounced dead on arrival".
RaajjeMV understands that the deceased is 19-year-old Moosa Ali Manik. The second individual, a 24-year-old, is in serious condition.
An eyewitness told RaajjeMV that there had been a fight between two groups near Kalhirava shop in the Maafannu ward of the city, and that they had fled before police officers arrived at the scene.
