Maldives Police Service (MPS) has launched an investigation on Mohamed Shahyb, President of Broadcom, for assaulting a Police officer.

Police media official confirmed the case was under investigation and that the case was filed on Tuesday.

The official refused to divulge additional details on the case. However, they had not denied the case involved Shahyb.

Eyewitnesses report that Shahyb had visited a residence near MDP offices on Sosun magu and was seen exiting the premises in a sprint, a few minutes later. Another individual had chased Shahyb, with eyewitnesses reporting that the two had argued.

RaajjeMV understands that the other person involved in the case is an officer of the Special Operations (SO) Police officers.

RaajjeMV had made multiple attempts to contact Shahyb. All calls and messages to him remained unanswered.

RaajjeMV also understands that Shahyb had filed the case in Police as well.
