Maldivian’s largest aircraft, the A330, has made its first trip to southernmost Addu City, and it has come to light that the purpose of the journey was to transport people attending the ruling PNC’s upcoming rally in Malé City.
Information received indicates that individuals traveled from Addu to Malé specifically for the PNC gathering, a detail confirmed by passengers who made the trip on the Maldivian A330.
The airline stated that the flight operated as a charter, though it did not disclose who arranged the charter.
This newspaper has also learned that Maldivian’s chartered flights, which were supposed to be used for transporting water to Fuvahmulah City amid its ongoing water shortage, are being utilized instead to bring people to the ruling party’s meeting in Malé.
A reliable source reported that Maldivian charter flights are scheduled to travel again to Addu and Fuvahmulah on Saturday, with these trips intended to return those who were flown in for the meeting.
