New Radiant draws level with Eagles, secures second spot
Club Eagles, who earned a single point from the draw, remain in eighth place with three points from five games.

New Radiant Sports Club were held to a goalless draw against Club Eagles in the ongoing Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League (DDPL), missing the chance to move to the top of the table.

The match, played on Monday night at the Galolhu National Stadium, saw both sides create several scoring opportunities but fail to convert them.

In the first half, New Radiant’s Ali “Sentey” Fasir came close with a free kick that sailed just over the crossbar. Later in the game, teammate Ahmed Husaam also missed a clear chance to put the Blues ahead.

Club Eagles, meanwhile, delivered a solid performance of their own, creating a number of promising chances. Ibrahim “Feydhoo Ibbe” Mahudhy had two opportunities to score but was unable to find the back of the net.

A victory would have seen New Radiant overtake Maziya Sports and Recreation at the top of the standings. However, the draw leaves them in second place with 13 points from five matches, marking their first game of the season without a win.

Defending champions Maziya lead the table with a perfect record of five wins and 15 points. Odi Sports Club also sit level with New Radiant on 13 points from five matches.

Club Eagles, who earned a single point from the draw, remain in eighth place with three points from five games.
