President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed three new members to the Civil Service Commission (CSC), including Mohamed Nasih, who has been reappointed for a second term as Chairman.
On Sunday, the President’s Office announced that the appointments were made in accordance with Article 180(b) of the Constitution of the Maldives and Section 13 of Law No. 5/2007 (Maldives Civil Service Act).
At a special ceremony held at the President’s Office, Mohamed Nasih, Dr. Hussain Faiz, and Dr. Dheeba Moosa officially took their oath of office. The oath was administered by Supreme Court Justice Ali Rasheed Hussain, who also presided over the proceedings.
Following the oath-taking, President Muizzu presented the newly appointed members with their official letters of appointment.
Nasih’s reappointment comes after earlier efforts by the current administration to remove him from the CSC. However, in a parliamentary vote, 52 lawmakers supported Nasih’s reappointment, securing him a second term as Chairman. Only four lawmakers voted against the decision.
Meanwhile, both Dr. Dheeba and Dr. Faiz received unanimous approval from the People’s Majlis, further solidifying their positions on the commission.
