The Marine Police Department of Maldives Police Service has begun inspection of marine vessels departing from Male' for the Eid holidays.

Police said that under the operation, vessels departing from meerubahuru port and ferries departing from Male' will be routinely checked to see if they meet the set safety standards.

Police said the operation will be in effect from August 27^th.
