Protesters have stressed that government officials consistently lie about the issue related to the flats and plots of land, and now, even after being caught lying, they deny any knowledge of it.
Protests were held on Sunday morning in front of Dharubaaruge, expressing concerns over the failure to disclose of the flat list issued under the Gedhoruveriyaa scheme during former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's government.
Protesters said that while President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu had stated that efforts were being made to publicize the flat list before the upcoming fasting month of Ramadan, they are now facing Ramadan with lies on their shoulders. The protesters stated that the government officials have been lying so much about the flat issue that now even when they lie, they don't realize it. They described the incumbent administration to be full of lies and deceit.
The protesters said that the incumbent administration, which came to power after promising not to be cruel to the people, is now being cruel to the people, and that there is no trust in any of the statements made by government officials.
Regarding the issue of not allocating flats, Ismail Naif, the founder of Fahi Union, said that the 19th People's Majlis had instructed to allocate the flats to their rightful owners. However, he said that no institution has responded to this, and that this is a concerning issue.
The protesters have said that the government's approach to the issue of flats and land is still unclear, and that the government is not providing the required information.
