Fathimath Shiuna, who was dismissed from her position as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) on Thursday afternoon, has claimed that she was not involved in the corruption scandal involving Heena Waleed.

In a statement released following her dismissal from the position of Deputy CEO at NSPA, Shiuna said that the time of her dismissal coincides with corruption allegations against NSPA CEO Heena Waleed, as well as numerous corruption allegations aimed at the incumbent administration. She assured that she had no involvement in any corruption cases targeting the government.

As such, she gave full assurance that she has no involvement in any corruption case pinned against the government.

Shiuna's dismissal came at a time it has been revealed that a five-year agreement was made between MMTV and NSPA, which is rumored to have been created with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu behind it, where NSPA would pay MMTV a monthly rent of MVR 580,000 to operate, totaling an agreement of MVR 34.8 million. When this information made the spotlight, it was stated that NSPA suddenly terminated the agreement.

Shiuna's statement noted that since her appointment as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of NSPA, she had not participated in any meetings held with MMTV.

The statement also strongly condemned the government's efforts to cover up acts of corruption.
