Mubeen appointed new Chairman of New Radiant
At the congress held at the Rannabandeyri Hall of Dharubaaruge, members were elected to the club's new board. Some articles of the club's constitution were also amended.

Ahmed Mubeen has been appointed as the new Chairman of New Radiant Sports Club, the most successful football club in the Maldives.

The last person to hold the position of Chairman at New Radiant was Ahmed Wasif. The position was left vacant since Wasif's resignation.

New Radiant, currently in the second division, held their club congress on Wednesday. New is currently working to return to the first division.

At the congress held at the Rannabandeyri Hall of Dharubaaruge, members were elected to the club's new board. Some articles of the club's constitution were also amended.

At the congress, when opportunities were opened for candidacy for New Radiant's board positions and only one person applied for each position.

Therefore, members were elected by a show of hands, through votes of approval or disapproval.

As such, Mubeen was unanimously elected as the Chairman of New Radiant by the members present at the congress. Mubeen, who previously served as MP for Bilehdhoo constituency at the 18th People’s Majlis, has been actively involved in New's affairs. He serves as the Managing Director of Regional Airports Company currently.

Further, members were elected to other positions including Managing Directors of state-owned companies and Members of Parliament.

Two members elected as Senior Vice Chairmen of the club are Mujthaba Ali, Managing Director of WAMCO, and Ali Ibrahim, MP for West Henveiru constituency. Ali Rasheed Ahmed was elected as Vice Chairman.

The newly elected board members of New Radiant are Ismail Rasheed, Ahmed Yoosuf, Ahmed Moosa, Mohamed Yoosuf, Zaheenuddeen Saeed, Moosa Saeed, Mohamed Ali, Umar Faruhaan, Abdullah Aboobakuru, and Mohamed Shakeel. Among them, Shakeel is the Managing Director of Hajj Corporation Limited.
