In the final interview before his arrest Sameer called on authorities to give space for peaceful political demonstrations and stop its various unlawful activities.
He also noted that police should allow the people to raise their voices, in order to make the government responsible for their actions.
While Sameer was arrested on Wednesday night, JP's leader and Maamigilli constituency MP, Qasim Ibrahim has been charged with bribery. A travel ban has also been imposed on Qasim, and he has been unable to travel abroad for medical treatment.
