BML revealed that Amex credit card holders can qualify for a lucky draw to win 20,000 BML Rewards points, by spending a minimum of MVR 3,000.

Bank of Maldives (BML) is celebrating 20 years of exclusive partnership with American Express.

The country’s national bank revealed that event to kick-off celebrations was held back in July 2024.

In a press release issued on Monday, the bank announced a promotion for its American Express Credit card holders as part of the series of activities to celebrate the partnership.

As such, BML revealed that Amex credit card holders can qualify for a lucky draw to win 20,000 BML Rewards points, by spending a minimum of MVR 3,000.

According to the bank, the rewards points can be used for flight bookings, car or hotel bookings or even to purchase gift cards from local and international merchants including Amazon, Apple and Spotify.

Director of Retail, Business and SME Banking of BML Moosa Nimal expressed pride in having introduced the first credit card in Maldives with American Express in 2004, followed by the world’s first American Express Debit Card.

Nimal said that after two decades of exclusive partnership, Amex remains a trusted and preferred brand for Maldivians now.

Highlighting that Amex has always delivered exceptional benefits and offers to BML’s card holders, Nimal added that they recently launched the country’s first-ever Sharia’h compliant Credit Card which has become a much sought-after product for our customers with its array of exclusive benefits.

As the largest card issuing and acquiring bank in the country, BML boasts over 7,900 merchants and an expansive customer base totalling 345,000. The country’s national bank is also the exclusive issuer and merchant acquiring partner of American Express in Maldives.
