An individual has been found injured inside a room of a guesthouse in the congested capital, Malé City.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that they went to the area on Monday in response to information received about a person staying in a room of the guesthouse, located in Henveiru-ward of the capital city.
Authorities were informed that the person was not heard from for a while.
Upon entering the room, officers found a person with injuries.
Found injured was a 27-year-old man.
MPS revealed that the man was rushed to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for treatment.
The police institution cited IGMH having revealed that he is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit.
Further investigations are currently underway in connection with the case.
