Two have been injured in a fire that broke out in Malé City.
The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) revealed that the fire broke out inside a garage located in Galolhu-ward of the capital city, near Sentuge.
Authorities received reports of the fire at around 08:43pm on Sunday.
Two individuals were rushed to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for smoke inhalation and several degrees of burns.
Injured were an Indian national and a Bangladeshi national.
By the time authorities were able to completely douse the flames, the garage had sustained major damages.
As such, property inside the garage was left damaged beyond use.
The reason for the fire has not been disclosed by authorities.
The congested capital city has been witnessing deadly fires over the years.
Most recently, a fire broke out inside a workshop on an industrial island near the capital region on August 22.
