President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has offered felicitations on the occasion of India’s Independence Day.

Taking to social media platform ‘X’ on Thursday morning, the Maldivian leader extended heartfelt congratulations to the neighboring country’s President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the friendly people of India.

Shedding light on the enduring ties of friendship stemming from history, Muizzu said that the ties have evolved to foster prosperity and development across the Maldives as well as the region.

The president expressed confidence that the partnership will continue to strengthen, steering mutual prosperity and shared goals in the future.

The president, addressing letters to the PM and President of India on the occasion, noted that India continues to be an invaluable partner in Maldives’ development.

He further stated that the long-standing partnership is based on mutual respect and trust and has been pivotal in enhancing the development and prosperity of the island nation.

Reaffirming his full commitment to strengthen ties, Muizzu wished for the continued progress and prosperity of the Indian people.
