Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has offered condolences following the death of Hamid Shafeeu, native to Ihavandhoo island of Haa Alif atoll.
Shafeeu was the former Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at the President’s Office during Solih’s presidency.
Shafeeu passed away some time on Sunday morning, in neighboring India.
Taking to social media platform ‘X’, the ex-president offered heartfelt condolences following the death of the former President’s Office CTO, to the mourning family.
Solih noted that Shafeeu is well known in the field of information technology in the Maldives and has made valuable contributions to the country and the field.
Shafeeu was the government's first CTO.
