Three individuals have been summoned publicly, in connection with an ongoing investigation.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) publicized the summons notice for three men wanted in connection with an ongoing probe linked to drugs, on Sunday.
MPS revealed that the case is being investigated by their Drug Enforcement Department (DED).
The summons was issued in accordance with section 27 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to be followed by the police while investigating criminal cases.
The police institution revealed that the summons notice was publicized as the authority’s efforts to locate the suspects and handover their summons notice, have been to no avail so far, and as the MPS has been unable to track them down.
Summoned are Easa Waseem, 37 and native to Kaashidhoo island of Kaafu atoll, Mohamed Ismail, 48 and native to Thulusdhoo island of Kaafu atoll and Ahmed Hoodh, 26 and native to Hithadhoo district of southernmost Addu City.
All three of the suspects have been summoned for questioning in connection with the case linked to drugs.
The suspects are to present themselves to the Adam Haleem Criminal Investigation Building or the police station closest to them at 12pm on July 21.
