Activities were held in Raa atoll Dhuvaafaru on Friday evening, calling for justice in the brutal murder of Mohamed Anas.
The citizens of the island had called on the authorities to expedite the investigation into the matter and called for justice.
Speaking to RaajjeTV Dhuvaafaru Council member said the citizens were attired in black with family members participating in it.
The participants also signed a petition which is to be submitted to relevant authorities.

25-year-old Anas, native to Raa Meedhoo, was stabbed to death by a group of masked men in the capital Malé City, with some eyewitnesses reporting that he had over 30 stab wounds.
Anas, who worked as a captain on a speedboat, was killed not long after he arrived in Malé that day.
A family member told RaajjeMV that they received the news of the stabbing "just 30 minutes after he left the house".
While police have not revealed any details of their investigation into his death, President Abdulla Yameen had, on Thursday, stated that Anas had been killed "by mistake due to the t. shirt he had been wearing".
