The government is to implement the Malé Fahi Programme.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu decided to implement the Malé Fahi Programme as per recommendations of his Cabinet of Ministers, earlier this week.

Announcing the decision, the President’s Office revealed that that Malé Fahi Programme initiative aims to effectively address the congestion in the Greater Malé Region as a result of the increase of land vehicles occupying the streets.

The decision stemmed from discussions on a paper submitted by the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation at the cabinet meeting.

Further, President Muizzu also decided to adopt an action plan comprising shared timelines among responsible institutions involved in implementing the Malé Fahi Programme.
