MMS further predicted that seas across the island nation are also likely to be rough, with strong winds tearing through some parts.

The department forecasted that the wave height will be from 3 – 7 feet.

Squally weather has been predicted to prevail across Maldives from Wednesday onwards, at a time the country is engulfed in festivities to commemorate this year’s Eid-al-Adha.

As such, throngs of people travelled to outlying atolls to celebrate Eid, this week.
