President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has urged the public to not forget to pray for Palestine, when celebrating Eid-al-Adha.
He said this in his address delivered to the public in commemoration of Eid al-Adha 1445.
In his address, Muizzu urged the people to uphold Islamic values and principles while celebrating Eid, by remembering blessings as well as avoiding mixing of cultural and Islamic traditions.
Encouraging Muslims to perform good deeds and charitable acts in the name of Allah, Muizzu urged his people to focus on hospitality, charity, prayer, and relieving stress this Eid.
He said that these actions will surely bring joy to the hearts of Muslims during this auspicious occasion.
Muizzu went on to urge the people to prioritize offering heartfelt prayers for the safety of Masjid Al-Aqsa and the people of Palestine, as they celebrate Eid.
Further, Muizzu reiterated that Maldives will continue to stand against the injustices faced by Palestinians and actively participate in efforts to liberate Masjid al-Aqsa with unwavering dedication.
Expressing firm commitment to support all Palestinian Muslim families, the Maldivian leader stressed that they hold a special place in the hearts of Maldivians.
Muizzu also encouraged the people to continue praying for the well-being of every child while cherishing fond memories.
Emphasizing that festivities such as Eid and those that are linked to it including celebrations, offering greetings and the recitation of Takbeer as well as embedding social spirit and sporting activities, the president said that these festivities mirror the richness of the religion.
Muizzu went on to encourage his people to pay special heed to instill the pride is Islam and patriotism in the hearts of young children during Eid, as well as to respect the traditions of Islam.
