Dr. Edward Addai, United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Representative to the Maldives has paid a courtesy call on First Lady Sajidha Mohamed.

He called on FL Sajidha at the official residence of the president, Mulee'aage on Thursday.

The meeting saw FL Sajidha praising UNICEF’s continuous support in addressing multiple issues linked to efforts to improve children’s development.

Expressing appreciation for FL Sajidha’s leadership and the support she continues to extend towards UNICEF initiatives, Dr. Addai extended gratitude for her involvement in the UNICEF nutrition program.

He also expressed gratitude to the Maldivian first lady for her involvement in the UNICEF nutrition program.

Dr. Addai commended the current administration’s work towards economic reform and social services in the Maldives.

Further, he expressed gratitude to Sajidha for participating in the Children’s Day Art Exhibition held on 24 November 2023, and shared a digital copy of the exhibition with her.

Discussions also revolved around social issues linked to the protection and development of children and protecting their rights.

Before concluding the meeting, Sajidha and the UNICEF Representative expressed mutual commitment to make every effort to ensure a safe environment for children.
