Ambassador of China to Maldives, Wang Fukang has paid his farewell call on Vice President Abdulla Jihad.
The meeting was held in President’s Office on Tuesday morning.
President’s Office reported that the Vice President expressed his sincere gratitude for the generous contributions and support by the Government of China for the economic and social development of Maldives. VP Jihad specifically noted major developmental projects that are currently underway; the China – Maldives Friendship Bridge, Expansion of Airport Runway project and building of 1,500 housing units in the Maldives.
In the meeting Vice President Jihad commended on the 45 years of bilateral relations between the two countries and expressed his confidence in enhancing the relations to new heights in the years to come.
Ambassador Fukang expressed the honor and privilege to serve as the Ambassador of China to Maldives, and took confidence in the Government of Maldives for its determination to further enhance the excellent relations between the two countries.
The Vice President was accompanied at the meeting by Secretary Bilateral at Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel and Under Secretary at the President’s Office, Fayyaz Shathir.
