Nine new ambassadors, high commissioners and permanent representatives have been appointed to foreign countries and international organizations.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu made the appointment on Tuesday.

The new appointees were conferred their letters of appointment during a ceremony held at the President’s Office on Tuesday morning.

Appointed include Mohamed Hussain Shareef as Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Dr. Fazeel Najeeb as Ambassador of Maldives to China and Geela Ali as Ambassador of Maldives to the Kingdom of Belgium and to the European Union (EU).

Further, Iruthisham Adam was appointed as the High Commissioner of Maldives to the United Kingdom, Dr. Mariyam Shabeena Ahmed was appointed as the High Commissioner of Maldives to Malaysia and Masood Imad was appointed as High Commissioner of Maldives to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

Further, Mohamed Luveiz was appointed as High Commissioner of Maldives to the Republic of Singapore.

Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed was appointed as the Permanent Representative of Maldives to the United Nations (PMNY) and Dr. Salma Rasheed was appointed as the Permanent Representative of Maldives to the United Nations Office in Geneva.
