Ooredoo Maldives has engaged in several activities to spread the festive spirit of unity and joy among communities nationwide, as part of Eid-Al-Fitr celebrations.
In a press release issued on Sunday, the telecommunications giant revealed that this year, they organized multiple activities to boost the spirit of unity and joy among the public.
Further, the telecom provider joined many events organized by the communities nationwide, to soak in the festivities of Eid-Al-Fitr, which began on April 10, marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan 1445.
As such, similar to every Eid in the past, Ooredoo Maldives distributed ‘Eid Boakibaa’ in the capital Malé City and its suburban extension and Hulhumalé, as a token to mirror the tradition of having ‘boakibaa’ for Eid breakfast, which has been practiced by Maldivian for generations.
The company also initiated a gift distribution event, ‘Eid Hadhiya’ distribution to kids, as the act of gift giving especially invokes happiness within young hearts.
In partnership with the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), Ooredoo also distributed ‘Eid Sai’ which translates as ‘Eid Breakfast’ at Phase II of Hulhumalé.
Further, Ooredoo also supported the ‘Fenkulhi’ also known as water war and ‘Tug of War’ tournament, an initiative by Club Hulhu, in Hulhumalé which saw the participation of many children and adults alike.
Ooredoo revealed that they also joined in an Eid celebration after Eid Prayer that day, organized by Hulhumalé Community Development Society.
Some of the activities Ooredoo supported across outlying islands include the Maestro Cup 2024 hosted in Maduvvari island of Meemu atoll, as the main partner.
Ooredoo Maldives was the bronze partner of the Council Cup hosted in Milandhoo island of Shaviyani atoll, which features the massive talent of Milandhoo island’s players.
In addition to this, Ooredoo partnered as the title sponsor for the Eydhafushi Futsal Cup, organized by the island’s council.
