Council members of Fainu island of Raa atoll have shared their key development concerns with the president.

This was done during a meeting President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu held with the island’s council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) members on Saturday.

The meeting saw discussions revolving around the importance of facilitating easy loan facilities for the construction of new houses on the island, the need for coastal protection as well as the need for the establishment of a designated picnic island for the community.

Listening to these concerns, the president assured the members that his administration would address the issues raised by the council and seek solutions to tackle them, through consultations with relevant authorities.

Members of the president’s Cabinet of Ministers accompanying him during the tour shared latest updates linked to the issues raised, at the meeting.
