Nakamura Ryo, the Director-General of the Southeast and Southwest Asian Affairs Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan has paid a courtesy call on Foreign Secretary Fathimath Inaya.
The meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday.
Foreign Secretary Inaya welcomed Director-General Ryo and engaged in extensive discussions during the meeting.
The foreign secretary shed light on the enduring strength of the partnership enjoyed between the governments of Maldives and Japan.
She also noted the important people-to-people connections that serve as the foundation of the relationship between the two countries.
The discussions also revolved on the close historical relationship between the two countries.
Foreign Secretary Inaya and Director General Ryo went on to exchange views on key areas of bilateral and multilateral interest.
The meeting saw both Foreign Secretary Inaya and Director General Ryo reaffirming their shared commitment to further solidify the partnership between Maldives and Japan bilaterally, through economic and development cooperation and in the international fora.
