The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) has inaugurated its sixth conference for health ministers of member nations.
The conference is ongoing in Colombo of Sri Lanka, and the Health Ministry said that representatives of member nations will discuss ways in which to better improve health facilities in the region.
This year’s conference will further review the progress of issues that member nations had agreed upon in previous conferences. Member nations will also adopt the 'Colombo Convention: calling for accelerated progress on key regional health issues'.
The ministers are also to discuss important health issues pertaining to expatriates from fellow member nations.
Health Minister Mohamed Nazim is participating in the conference.
